At our retail store in Collingwood, we sell a number of Yale safes. Depending on your security needs, we can supply, install and service a range of Yale safes for your home or business. Because many of our clients ask about our Yale safes, especially fire-resistant and laptop safes, this week, we decided to tell you about Yale’s laptop and fire safes.

Yale Laptop Safes

Laptop safes are specially designed to protect from Bluetooth and wireless interference. An interior protective coating defends against wireless attack. Steel doors and walls prevent old-fashioned mechanical prying, and would-be-safe-crackers are prevented from entering more than three incorrect PINs thanks to the high-tech electronic keypad.

Safes for laptops are increasingly popular for business owners, homeowners and universities. Depending on your requirements, we may recommend a Yale Elite safe. The 10.8L safe is designed to fit most laptop models, with internal measurements of 197x 427 x 295mm.

When you purchase a Yale laptop safe from Amalgamated Locksmiths, you have the option of having one of our mobile locksmiths install it for you. Onsite, they will discuss with you the most secure place in your home or office to install the safe. Having a safe properly installed is almost as important as keeping it closed. When installing a safe, it must be securely mounted to something that cannot easily be removed. To this end, Yale Elite safes come with four fixing bolts and pre-drilled holes for mounting.

Yale Fire Safes

Some Yale fire safes also protect your data. The medium-sized YFM/352/FG2, for example, provides an extra “safe-within-a-safe” insulation layer, protecting digital documents such as hard-drives and discs from extreme heat and humidity.

Yale fire safes provide a range of features in addition to heat resistance. The model above, for example, allows users to set one-time-only access codes and lockdown modes of up to 48 hours should the wrong code be entered.

Yale fire safes are designed to withstand intense fire for up to one hour and are popular for homeowners, AirBnB providers and businesses.

Yale in Australia

Yale started out in the 19th Century in America, manufacturing strong locks for banks. SInce then, they have become a key part of the Australian locksmith and security industries. In the early 2000s, Yale in Australia was taken over by the Assa Abloy Group, the same people behind access control system, Clay. Because of their excellent quality-to-cost ratio, Yale are one of our most popular, well-known brands.
