- Breaches of Justice Orders (243 offences)

- Theft (932 offences)
- Breaches of Justice Orders (283 offences)

2017 v 2016
In 2017, the rates of three of the five top offences dropped. Reports of Theft dropped from 909 to 759. Breaches of Justice Orders, much higher in Collingwood than in some of our other suburbs, dropped from 245 to 243 cases reported. There were 25 fewer Deceptions reported in 2017.
There were three more Assaults in 2017 than in 2016. Despite this, Assault dropped out of the Top Five. Property Damage took its place, with twenty more instances reported in 2017 (160) than in 2016 (140).

Breaches of Orders
Breaches of Orders are much higher in Collingwood than in some of our other Suburbs in Focus. Not much to do with locksmithing, Breaches of Orders are crimes relating to people ignoring court rulings and restraining orders. Suburbs in which there are courtrooms (Collingwood is home to the Neighbourhood Justice Centre), naturally, then, have higher instances of these kinds of offences getting reported.
Deception

Theft
Theft spiked last year with 909 offences reported. The year before, in 2015, there were 776 cases of Theft reported in Collingwood, 143 more cases than in 2014. From 2010 to 2013, reports of Thefts were in the 500s. 2009 had 706 instances reported, and 2008 had the same number of Thefts as 2017.
