Theft

Since 2013, Theft has been the most commonly reported crime in Brunswick. Theft includes not only the stealing of property, but the conscious possession of stolen goods. To deter criminals from thieving from your home or business, we recommend keeping your valuables in safe. Click on our safes page, contact us, or visit our Collingwood store to see which safe best suits your home or business security needs.

Burglary/ Breaking and Entering

Burglary is almost always in the Top Two offences per suburb. Read our previous Suburb in Focus pages to see what we recommend to improve your home or business security. Previously, we have recommending securing your neighbourhood against burglary by becoming friends with your neighbours. Strong locks on doors are a must, as is a good quality alarm system.

Property Damage

Whether you are renting, an AirBnB host, or a business owner in Brunswick, securing your premises and its contents against Property Damage is vital. Property Damage, not including Arson (with 4 cases reported in Brunswick this year), is the second lowest it has been in Brunswick, with 250 offences compared to last year’s 246, but it is still in the suburb’s Top 5 offences. Deception

Deception-related offences occur when a criminal poses as somebody else to gain access to your property. When you have a serviceperson come to your home or business, ask to see their identification.
